The word hatha (lit force, sun) symbolizes a system of physical techniques integrating body, mind, and spirit. This mixed-level Hatha yoga class uses asanas (bodily postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), and dyana (meditation techniques) with the goal of bringing about a healthy body and a clear, peaceful mind. The asanas work to make the spine supple, the core strong and supple and to promote circulation in the organs, glands, and tissues. Hatha yoga postures strengthen and stretch the body, promoting balance and flexibility. Great for those with arthritis. Classes end with a sweet savasana to help release stress and relax body and mind.
